RRB NTPC exam date and status is out. NTPC stands for Non-Technical Popular Categories. Almost 35,208 vacancies are available under various graduate and undergraduate posts. The applications closed in March 2019 and the tentative dates for the 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) were between June to September 2019. But, the process hindered and delayed due to the non-finalization of the conducting agencies.

Finally, the current status and latest update are that the RRB NTPC Exam will start by 15 December 2020. Railway Recruitment Board received almost 2.40 crore applications regarding this. NPTC exam is a golden opportunity to be a part of India’s most earning industry in the Government sector.

RRB NTPC Exam Date and Status

All the applicants are eagerly waiting for the NTPC exam dates. However, RRB has not announced the official dates yet. But, it is decided to conduct the exams after December 15, 2020. The dates will be soon available on the official website of RRB. You will also receive the updates here. You can visit this page regularly to obtain the latest news.

RRB NTPC Exam Application Status

RRB released the application status for NTPC Graduate & Undergraduate Posts on September 21, 2020. It was available till September 31, 2020.

RRB NTPC Exam Official Notification

RRB NTPC official notification was published on February 28, 2019. The application closed on March 31, 2019. The following are the posts under selection.

Important Instructions for the Candidates

  • Firstly, note that malpractices have to be strictly avoided. Once found you will be debarred from all the recruitments of RRBs. You will be also liable for prosecution.
  • Electronic Gadgets are prohibited inside the examination hall. The possession of such equipment will debar you from further procedures and recruitments.
  • You can download the call letters from the official Website 4 or 5 days before the examination.
  • There will be normalization of the marks according to the specified formula of RRB.
  • Moreover, candidates will be selected for CBT-2 based on the merit in CBT-1. This will  be at the rate of 20 times the vacancies.
  • Further note that, there is negative marking for the incorrect answers in all CBTs. There will be a deduction of 1/3 marks for each of the wrong answers.

  • You will have a Computer Based Test (CBT-1).
  • Selected candidates from CBT-1 can appear for CBT-2.
  • After clearing CBT-2, there will be a Skill Test.

  • The Skill Test is followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. Make sure that you are eligible as per the medical standards required for the applied posts.

A-2 Physically fit in all respects
  • Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9. This is without glasses (No fogging test).
  • Near Vision: Sn 0.6. It should be without glasses.
  • You have to also pass the tests for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision & Myopic Vision.
A-3 Physically fit in all respects
  • Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9. This can be with or without glasses. However, the power of the glasses must not exceed 2D.
  • Near Vision: Sn 0.6. It can be with or without glasses.
  • You have to also pass the tests for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision & Myopic Vision.
B-2 Physically fit in all respects
  • Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/12. This can be with or without glasses. However, the power of the glasses must not exceed 4D.
  • Near Vision: Sn 0.6. It can be with or without glasses.
  • You have to also pass the tests for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision & Myopic Vision.
C-2 Physically fit in all respects
  • Distant Vision: 6/9, nil. This can be with or without glasses.
  • Near Vision: Sn 0.6. It can be with or without glasses.

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

  • Candidates opted for Traffic Assistant & Station Master have to appear for this test.
  • Most importantly, you have to obtain a minimum score of 42 marks in each test to qualify.
  • Further note that, there is no relaxation for the minimum marks for specific categories.
  • You can answer the questions in English & Hindi only.
  • There is no negative marking in CBAT.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

  • You must be able to type 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
  • Moreover, the test will be conducted on a personal computer.
  • Note that, there will not be any editing tools or spell check facility.
