As part of the fellowship, you will get J-1 visa support, tuition fees, and other related costs. You will also receive accident and sickness coverage. The duration of fellowships is one to two years. Eligibility:

  • You should have obtained an equivalent U.S. bachelor’s degree.

Scholarships for Indians to study abroad

Fullbright – Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships

This is a scholarship under USIEF. Indian scholars registered for a Ph.D. at an Indian institution can apply for this scholarship.  The duration of  the fellowships is six to nine months. As part of the scholarship, the candidate will be affiliated with a U.S host institution.

You should ensure that you have identified the institution prior to the application. Also, ensure that you are attaching the letter of invitation from the U.S. institution as part of the application if it has been received. Further, note that applications apply to certain fields only.

You will get J-1 visa support and a monthly stipend during the fellowship period. Round-trip economy class air travel and accident and sickness program are the other benefits of the fellowship.

Eligibility:

  • You should have registered in an Indian institution.
  • Also, you should have conducted research in the relevant field.
  • You have to upload the published or presented paper during the application.
  • You should include the Ph.D. registration date and topic with the application.
  • A recommendation letter from the Ph.D. supervisor should be attached.
  • The expected Ph.D. thesis submission date should be at a minimum of 3 months after the Fullbright -Nehru grant end date.

This is a scholarship program under USIEF. The fellowship is available both for Doctoral and Postdoctoral research. The program address  the climate-related problems of India and the U.S.  You will be affiliated with a U.S. host institution as part of this.

Doctoral Research

Indian students registered for Ph.D. in an Indian institution can apply for this and the duration of the fellowship is for six to nine months.

Postdoctoral Research

Indian researchers and faculty who are at their early stage of research can apply for this. Note that, the duration of fellowships is for 8 to 12 months.

The Great wall program

This is a scholarship organized by the Government of China. The program aims at helping the students of developing states. Once selected, you will study as a visiting scholar in the host universities. Click here to find out the fields of studies.
